Write for us
We welcome pitches that make a specific question about Western intellectual traditions worth a reader’s time. A strong proposal explains the subject, the central argument, and what context will help a general reader understand it.
What we welcome
We consider original essays and explanatory pieces on political thought, philosophy, economic thought, social ideas, and intellectual history. Useful pitches might clarify a contested concept, compare distinct arguments, or show how an idea changed as it moved between settings. We favour focused subjects over broad surveys and writing that makes room for complexity without relying on specialist shorthand.
What to include
Send a short proposal naming the question, your main line of argument, the intended reader, and why the subject merits attention now or in historical perspective. Mention the sources or bodies of work you expect to draw on, and disclose any relevant interest or relationship. A pitch should describe the piece you plan to write, not simply list a topic.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include your proposal in the message field. Please do not send confidential or unpublished material that you are not willing to share for editorial consideration. A submission is not a promise of publication; we will assess its fit, accuracy, originality, and clarity.
